Install Kindnod
Add this before </head> on every page. Your site key is on the Set up tab of your site in the dashboard.
<script src="https://kindnod.com/kindnod.js" data-site="YOUR_SITE_KEY" async></script>
That's the whole install. On first load Kindnod:
- Sends Google Consent Mode v2 "denied" defaults before any other tag runs.
- Fetches your banner config (cached at the edge).
- Checks for an existing decision: its own cookie, or a Cookiebot cookie if you migrated.
- Asks your geo endpoint whether this visitor's country requires consent. If not, it records an implied consent and shows nothing.
- Shows the banner. Records the choice. Releases blocked scripts.
Blocking scripts until consent
Change type="text/javascript" to type="text/plain" and add a category:
<script type="text/plain" data-kindnod="statistics" src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=G-XXXX"></script>
<script type="text/plain" data-kindnod="marketing">
!function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s){/* Meta pixel */}(window,document,'script','https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js');
</script>
Cookiebot's attribute name data-cookieconsent works too, so you don't have to touch existing markup. For iframes and images use data-kindnod-src (or Cookiebot's data-cookieblock-src).
If you run everything through Google Tag Manager you don't need to block anything by hand: use Consent Mode and the dataLayer events described in the Tag Manager guide.
Verify
Publish, then click Verify my site in the dashboard. Kindnod fetches your homepage and confirms the tag is live.
